Two Hundred Years of Faith.

One Family. One Hawaiʻi.

Dear Friends,

Two hundred years ago, a small band of missionaries stepped ashore on these islands carrying nothing but faith — and everything changed.

What followed was not simply the arrival of a religion. It was the beginning of schools, hospitals, homes for the sick and dying, and communities that would shape the very soul of Hawaiʻi. The Congregation of the Sacred Hearts built the foundations. Saint Damien gave his life. Saint Marianne Cope extended her hands. Generation after generation, ordinary people in these islands lived extraordinary faith.

Now, we mark two hundred years.

The Diocese of Honolulu Bicentennial Celebration is a year-long journey across every island, every parish, every community that has been touched by this story. It is Masses at dawn. School children ringing bells together across the state. Pilgrims retracing footsteps of the saints. And a grand gathering of the whole family — One Hawaiʻi — at the close of the year.

None of it happens without you.

Your gift sustains this celebration — the events, the media, the history preserved for the next generation. Whatever you are moved to give, know this: it carries two hundred years of faith forward.

Make your gift today. All donations to the Diocese of Honolulu Bicentennial Celebration are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law.
